Siebel – License keys don’t work / are invalid

So, here I am again. After the fabulous solution to enter license key in Siebel by Prachi, I guess I would also just put an icing on the cake! ;-)

Okay, Prachi’s post, is valid in case you HAVE the license keys available. What do you do in case you DON’T HAVE the license keys in the first place!!

This is what this post is all about, entering Siebel without a valid license key.

Siebel – Adding License Keys to Sample

I am glad to be associated with Geeks Blogging @ dotCOM. This is my first post here.

This is a very generic problem that we all come across. Adding License Keys in Siebel Sample Database. This is at times a little difficult and workarounds have to be used.

There are a number of ways that you can enter License Keys in Siebel:
1) When you are installing Siebel, and try to log in for the first time, it asks for valid License Keys. You can enter multiple license keys at this step.
2) Log into Siebel Web Application. Navigate to Sitemap -> Administration – Application -> License Keys.
3) Log into Siebel Tools. Navigate to Help -> Technical Support -> License Keys

Prachi Sharma

Hi all,

It gives me great pleasure to introduce you all to Ms Prachi Sharma.
Prachi has been actively involved with Siebel CRM for about 2 years now. Her major areas of expertise include Siebel Configuration, Siebel eScripts, Siebel Admin, Assignment Manager and many more. Prachi still feels she falls short of calling herself an expert in Siebel EAI. She, however, has been doing quite some work in Siebel Performance related areas.

Siebel Tools hangs when checking out objects

Hi,

Now this is strange. I had been running into some problems when I was checking out objects in my Siebel Tools. What used to happen was that I would set an object for check-out. It would show it fine for some time. all the extracts being done fine, all the tables being checked out one by one et al. All of a sudden, the operation would hang.

Siebel – LookUpName() and LookUpValue()

Hi all,

I was working for a multi lingual implementation recently. This means, the Status on the Order Header was in English if the language selection of logged in user was English, and in Swedish if the language of the logged in user was Swedish.

I came across this problem that at times when the user invoked my custom method on the Orders screen by clicking a button, the Order Status value was passed in his native language – English (ENU) or Swedish (SVE).

Tag Cloud

Hi,

We have introduced the new feature of ‘TAG CLOUD’, visible towards the right side of the page today.

This will display all the tags on all the posts on this blog. The popularity of a particular tag increases by more and more posts referring to that tag. Higher the popularity, greater the size you would see for that tag in the tag cloud. Makes for easy searching, and the most popular themes on Geeks Blogging @ dotCOM.

Enjoy!! :-)

Sage Spark??!!

I recently came across this article on Small Business Computing about Sagespark. For the people who have known the Microsoft DreamSpark with lots of free stuff, trying to hit the chord with college students, I can see this as an attempt from the Sage to draw the equal with MS!

Siebel Assets List view – Performance issue / Cannot display records

Assets Screen Load is a major problem in Siebel, and a major pain area for the concerned developer. I am sure many of you would have come across it in one implementation or the other.

If there are more than 10,000 records in Assets screen, vanilla Siebel Application will not load the screen.
