Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g announced

by Nitin Jain

This one is for all the SOA enthusiasts out there. Oracle has announced the realease of Oracle SOA Suite 11g, on 1 July 2009.

All of us know Oracle as a pioneer in Service Oriented Architecture. Today, Oracle has a domineering presence with its complete set of SOA based products, the Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle JDeveloper, Oracle Application Server, Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Webcenter Suite, Oracle Weblogic Suite, and others.

Oracle Webcenter Suite
This is a Portal platform providing a number of functionalities to develop Web based Applications. Its strength lies in its ability to handle change progressively, and its vast ability to connect disparate systems practically connecting people in real time.

Oracle Weblogic Suite
Application Grid Architecture greatly increases the efficiency and performance of hardware in today’s world. Oracle Weblogic Server is the building block of building any such server architecture which is robust, and equally responsive to change.

Oracle Identity Management
Security is of utmost importance in any computing infrastructure today. Oracle Identity Management helps the organizations control Access to Critical resources in a Service Oriented Architecture.

All of us already know of the 11g version to have been in the Technical Preview mode for quite some time. All of us had been waiting eagerly for the Production version to become avialable. The countdown has finally begun.

not exactly, Sarah. It is more like a suite where Oracle ultimately intends to include quite a lot of products.

Currently the focus is on Middlewares. We could probably see more in future as is clear from the name itself.
