Fastest Web Application yet??

by Nitin Jain

I just had to share this!

How fast do you think can you build a fully functional Web Application? A little bit of twist here. The Web Application must have the Session Handling facility through Java Session Beans. It can optionally make use of Java Service Facades (I am still wondering what in the world that is!!).

A month, 10 days, 5 days??

How about 10 minutes? :-)
Shay Shmelter from Oracle is back with a miracle for us. He has created a fully functional Web Application using Oracle JDeveloper (part of the Oracle SOA Suite) and ADF bindings. Check out the video here. It really is a visual treat.

Is Oracle throwing out a challenge to everybody here?
Just a thought. What prevents this exact scenario to be simulated in other IDEs or RAD Tools? With a little background preparation and practice, a pro may just be able to simulate it in NetBeans as well.

Did I hear NO?? Be a little louder please. You are not audible yet!

For NetBeans, here is a page about developing web applications: http://netbeans.org/kb/trails/web.html. Now with Java EE 6!

Nice link, Petr. Full of tutorials and trainings for Netbeans IDE.

Yet, does NetBeans have an answer to Oracle’s WebCast in the article above?

If you wanted to develop web applications quickly, just use some language like alpha five. Not that I am trying to promote the platform, but it would at least be less boring then that presentation.

Anyone can do this when they are following pre written script of what to do. I like those so called professional sw dev training courses.

Yeah, I agree. Anybody can do so with a pre written script. I said that in my post above too!

Alpha five, I am wondering what in the world that is. Jonathan, either you are doing a good job promoting it. Not that I mind :-)
