Is Oracle Fusion Apps now generally available ?
Well, with all the talk coming out of Oracle stable for all these months, even if it IS generally available, it may not make for a good business case for all businesses to jump for it right away.

Research to Development – Fusion Apps Series
This post follows our last post about the UI Experience enhancement in the Fusion App Series. Development of any new, ground-breaking product requires a lot of hard work, and never ending pain-staking effort.
Fusion Applications Stack has been a product which Oracle claims it has built right from the ground up. Though they have leveraged the good business principles of the various products, technically it has been built from scratch. Let’s investigate each of the inputs one by one.

HCM user Experience through UI – Fusion Apps series
Oracle’s Fusion Apps has been the big name, and has created a big wave over the last couple of weeks. In light of the same, we at GeeksBlogging@dotCOM decided to come up with a series of posts sharing whatever little we know about Fusion Apps as of now, and the details as they get unravelled along the path.
I’ll start this series with the prerogative, something that you see first whenever you hop onto a new application – the UI, and why everybody at Oracle is so gung-ho about it !
“Managing Oracle Fusion Applications”
This is significant news. Even though Oracle’s Fusion Applications is not even generally available yet, there is a new book that has recently been launched that left me foxed. In fact, I looked at the title again to verify that it actually meant the *new* breed of Oracle Fusion Applications being launched by Oracle, and currently available only under Controlled Access.

Microsoft *previews* Windows 8 – Part 2 now available !!
We had previously shared the video showing what Windows 8 was all about, and everything new that it came with. I recently came across another video which is from the Microsoft Partner conference in Taiwan a few days ago. This is Part-2 really, where the older presentation left off, and is much more detailed even for the same features.
It details out the features in much more detailed manner, demoes Windows running on a wide variety of Hardware devices, talks about allowing the wonderful stuff like using the Accelerometer, Gyroscope, etc. in the Apps directly by the developers, and the follow up “Build” conference in September which will take the Developers closer to Windows 8.
Let’s upgrade Siebel CRM to Fusion Apps “right now” !!
Great news guys. The wait is over. Oracle’s first versions of Fusion Applications is now available for use by its customers. It’s being called “Oracle Fusion Applications 11g R1 (11.1.1.5.0)”.

INSIDE ORACLE FUSION APPS : CRM PERSPECTIVE
Ness Technologies bought out by Citigroup Unit
Jobs, jobs, Siebel Jobs. I am based in India. And, whenever I tried looking out for a new job, or whenever we invited candidates to fill in critical Siebel CRM positions, the name that invariably used to come up was “Ness Technologies”. Now, this is about to change and we may be seeing more of “Citigroup”.
US banking giant, Citigroup announced last friday, that it is acquiring the IT Services provider Ness Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: NSTC; TASE: NSTC) for about $307 million. The acquisition is expected to be financed purely by cash.
Oracle #1 CRM Applications vendor ??
International Data Corporation (IDC) is the premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology markets. IDC helps IT professionals, business executives, and the investment community make fact-based decisions on technology purchases and business strategy.
It seems even though the paper outlining the exact vendor market share in the CRM Market for 2010 is not out yet, Oracle has some insider information about it (or so it claims). It says Oracle Corp. has retained its #1 spot for CRM Apps.
Google offers “Google Offers”
So finally, Google-Groupon comes to town !!
After the desolate and failed bid to acquire Groupon, Google was widely rumored to be working on its own Groupon with the Google branding. Well, the cat is out of the bag now. Google has launched “Google Offers” as a straight, head-on competition to the daily coupons, and daily discount sites like Groupon, Livingsocial, sosasta, dailydeals, snapdeal, and many similar clones which most got going after the phenomenal success of Groupon.com.
Free Oracle Summer Camps ADF, BPM & WebCenter – Portugal
Off late, Oracle has been offering some really good training courses to get the Developer community going. The higher level Oracle partners have always had an unfair advantage.
Another such extensive workshop is now being organized for the Oracle Partners for advanced tracks of -
- Business Process Management (BPM)
- Application Development Framework (ADF)
- WebCenter
Inside Oracle Fusion Apps : CRM perspective
Okay, now this is bigg news. We all know about the Oracle Fusion Applications coming up, and how it is almost dreaded to eat up our jobs, viz. jobs for the technologies as we know them today.
