1) How do I register?

You can see the section titled ‘Admin Controls’ in the right bar. Press on the link titled ‘Register’. You will be taken to a screen where you would need to enter your wanted username and email. Both your username and email must be unique in the GeeksBlogging@dotCOM database. Please be careful to enter your email carefully as your password would be emailed to you at that email address.


2) I registered, what next?

After registering on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM, you would get a Welcome mail from ‘wordpress@geeksbloggingat.com’ with your password. You would be able to enter GeeksBlogging@dotCOM by entering your username that you entered at the time of registration and the password in your email. You may change your password from the ‘Your Profile’ section in the Site Admin area once you log in with the auto generated password.


3) How much do I need to pay to register?

Registration is currently free. You would be able to post comments once you are registered on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM. Please read the section on payment for services on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM in conjunction to this.


4) How much do I need to pay to use services on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM?

All services on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM are currently being offered completely free of all charges to its users. However, GeeksBlogging@dotCOM reserves the right to charge for some or all of its services in future. Please read the Disclaimer and Terms & Conditions sections carefully before using services on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM.


5) I registered. It’s been more than 24 hours and I still haven’t received my password.

Goto the Login screen and press Lost Password link. Enter either of your username or registered email id, and a your password would be remailed to you. Please allow 24 hours for the password to be processed. In case you still don’t receive your password, please contact the administrators stating the problem.


6) I registered, have waited for over two days, and have already tried the Lost Password option. I still don’t have a password to login, what do I do?

Possibly your email address entered at the time of registration is faulty. You have two options here. Either
- Re-register with the correct email id. You will not be able to reuse the userid that you used when registering for the first time.
- In case you are positive that you are using a valid email address, or you don’t wish to follow the above solution, write to the administrators with details. Please give the human administrators some time to solve your problem.


7) How do I Log in?

You can see the section titled ‘Admin Controls’ in the right bar. Press on the link titled ‘Login’. On pressing ‘Login’, you will be taken to the login screen where you need to enter the username and password as in FAQ# 1.


8 ) How do I post comments?

You must be registered and logged in to post comments. Please refer the section on registration and logging in on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM for further details.


9) How do I access my Admin area?

Whenever you log in, you would be taken directly to your admin area (this could change in future). In case you are currently browsing the website GeeksBlogging@dotCOM, you can see the section titled ‘Admin Controls’ in the right bar. Press on the link titled ‘Site Admin’ in case you are already logged in. Else, you can press ‘Login’ where you would need to enter your username and password.


10) How do I change my pesonal details? I want to change my First Name and Last Name.

Once you are in your Site Admin area, please navigate to the section titled, ‘Your Profile’ in the ‘Profile’ area on the left. You can change your personal details like your First Name, Last Name, etc. there.


11) I also want to contribute to GeeksBlogging@dotCOM. What do I need to do?

First thing you need to do is to register on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM and write some comments on the website. Then, write to the administrators requesting an upgrade of role on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM. A couple of sample articles that you plan to put up on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM are preferred.


12) I requested for upgradation of role to Contributor on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM. How do I know my request has been approved?

Look for an email from the Administrators in your email confirming the change.
Your Site Administrator area would also look different. You will have new control tab labelled ‘Posts’ towards the left side of the Site Admin area.


13) Okay, I am ready. How do I write my first post?

Login and enter your Site Admin area. Press the button titled, “New Post” towards the top right of your site admin area. You will be taken to the detailed screen for entering the post. You need to enter the ‘Title’ of the post in the first box on the top. As you scroll off this box, an automatic location for the post will be created by the system. This is fine, please don’t change it. Switch to the HTML writing view from the Visual view by clicking on the HTML tab towards the top right of the bix box in the middle. It is this box that you would be writing the content of your post in. You may enter the appropriate Category and Tags for better labelling of the post, and to indicate to your readers the expertise area that it relates to. Press the button, ‘Submit for Review’ towards the top right of the page once you are confident you are done and want the article to be published as it is. You may preview the article as to how will it look once posted on GeeksBlogging@dotCOM by pressing the ‘Preview’ button towards the top-right of the screen.
Please note that your submission may be edited before posting. Make sure you have read the Disclaimer and the Terms & Conditions carefully on this website before submitting a post for review by the Administrator and that you agree to all of them.


14) My login id appears along with my comments and posts. How do I change it to reflect my name?

Once you are in your Site Admin area, please navigate to the section titled, ‘Your Profile’ in the ‘Profile’ area on the left. You will see a drop down against ‘Display name publicly as’. The system has auto generated some options for you like [First Name][Last Name], Login id, etc. Select the one you like from the drop down and press ‘Update Profile’ on the bottom of the page.


15) I am really frustrated by all this. I need to talk to a human for this to make sense to me.
