Google versus Apple – It’s official now
“Unfortunately, as Google enters more of Apple’s core businesses, with Android and now Chrome OS, Eric’s effectiveness as an Apple Board member will be significantly diminished, since he will have to recuse himself from even larger portions of our meetings due to potential conflicts of interest. Oracle 11g Certification coming soon
Good news for all the Oracle 11g Database Administrator Certification aspirants. Paul has just confirmed that Oracle is soon to launch the OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) Certification for its latest 11g Database Administration.
The beta period for the Certification, “1Z1-053 – Oracle Database 11g: Administration II” closed recently. This is a single exam requirement for ones holding the Oracle DB 11g Administrator Certified Associate (OCA), and gives them the opportunity to upgrade to the coveted OCP.

Doorbell comes out of beta
All of us know that Siebel is by far the most popular CRM system on the planet. However, one of the biggest restraints on setting up Siebel is as a Siebel employee once put it up in his own words, “.. Siebel CRM is targetted only at companies with over $250m in annual revenues ..”. Though this has more or less changed with the launch of Oracle’s CRM OnDemand, the push is still there. Siebel is not something we can pitch to the small startup with 10 guys round the corner of our block.
Salesforce Singapore Data Center now Live
Claus Moldt, the VP of Service Delivery at Salesforce recently made the announcement that Salesforce’s Singapore Data Center is now Live!! Salesforce claims that this new Data Center in Singapore will help accelerate Customer Adoption, and most importantly, customer success, with the enterprise cloud computing worldwide.
All of us know Salesforce as the pioneers in the SaaS CRM space. And, with the high number of existing customers, they are going to be there for quite some time! Salesforce, though, was known to be pretty strong in Americas, their foothold in Asia was not all that successful. A lot was attributed to the sluggish Asian economy.

We had reported yesterday that Google has announced its own Operating System, the Google Chrome OS. And, all of us wondered at the timing, especially considering that they don’t even have a prototype or a clear path on as to how they are going to build it! Well, we believe we just found the answer.

If the rounds over the Internet are to be believed, it seems Microsoft may be launching “Microsoft Office in the Cloud”. All of us believe that MS Office is Microsoft’s second best selling software after MS Windows.

Oracle buys IP Assets of Conformia
Oracle recently announced that it has acquired the Intellectual Property Assets of Conformia. Looks like Oracle is at it again.
Conformia is one of the world’s leading Enterprise Software provider for Process / Product Lifecycle Management (PPLM). Their software is popular in regulated Process Manufacturing Industries like Life Sciences (to manage drug design, development of products across bio, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Drug Components, etc.) and Beverage Alcohol.
